The Kiturami group (Chairman Choi Jin-min) announced that it had donated the Kiturami scholarship' to 8 local governments, including Gwangju-si in Gyeonggi-do.
The scholarship amount was KRW 50 million each for Gwangju-si in Gyeonggi, Yeonje-gu in Busan, Gangwon, and Cheongju-si in Chungbuk, and KRW 30 million each for Guri-si in Gyeonggi, Gunsan-si in Jeonbuk, Jongno-gu in Seoul, and Gimje-si in Jeonbuk.
The Kiturami scholarship is designed to encourage students with excellent academic records and students from low-income families recommended by each local government.
"We hope that the Kiturami scholarship recipients will grow their dreams by having the scholarship ease their financial difficulties. The Kiturami Group will continue to fulfill its corporate social responsibility by carrying out various social contribution activities,” an official from the Kiturami Group said.
In addition to scholarships, the Kiturami Group has been carrying out social contribution activities worth KRW 48 billion over the last 37 years, such as academic research support and educational institution development funds, through the Kiturami Cultural Foundation and the Kiturami Welfare Foundation.
