Kiturami Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Hak-soo) announced that it has signed a business agreement (MOU) with Mongolia's Hunnu Guren Construction for the supply of carbon boards.

There were Kiturami CEO Kim Hak-soo, Mongolian Ambassador to Korea Oyunbaatar Jagdag, and Hunnuguren Construction CEO ORGIL Baasankhuu, among other officials in attendance for the business agreement ceremony held at the Kiturami Air Conditioning & Heating Technology Research Institute (located in Magok-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul).

According to the agreement, Kiturami and Hunnu Guren Construction are poised to cooperate on joint product development, production, sales network formation, and service training to supply ‘Kiturami Carbon Board Ondol’ units to Mongolia.

Currently, on the outskirts of urban areas in Mongolia, there is a large population living in “Ger” villages, which are communal residential areas made up of “Gers”, traditional Mongolian houses.

Given the characteristics of “Gers”, which are prefabricated houses, boiler heating units are infeasible, and because coal is mainly used as fuel to power heating devices such as stoves, air pollution is growing into a serious social problem.

The Kiturami Carbon Board Ondol unit is an eco-friendly heating material that runs on electricity without the worry of air pollution from oil and coal. The plan is to popularize Korean-style floor heating units, which is not common to Mongolia, through far-infrared radiant heating emitted from a patented carbon heating net.

In particular, this heating method is an ideal option for prefabricated houses such as “Gers” because the construction period is very brief and it can be customized for various spaces and interiors.

A Kiturami Boiler official said, “We have formed this business agreement to cater to local demand in Mongolia with the eco-friendliness and ease of use of Kiturami carbon boards to help resolve chronic air pollution and enhance the heating environment for residents of traditional houses.”
